Mucky Puddle on TV tonight!
Monday, 28 June 2010 16:02

Earlier this year Creative Director, Mhairi Mackenzie was invited to join the team at Small Back Room in London to help out on the new BBC series of Mary Queen of Shops.
Setting up camp in London for 10 days, Mhairi quickly settled in to her temporary office in Waterloo and got to work on the new website for shop owners Denny and Dazzle.
Small Back Room’s talented designers created the new corporate identity for the renamed shop and Mhairi worked with their inhouse team to roll the mark across the newly created business. Mhairi worked to create a range of items in time for the big launch, including price tickets, point of sale items, shop displays, feature items and even a range of 37 cups and saucers!
Mucky Puddle were also delighted to be able to design and build the new 37 website. Mhairi met with owners Denny and Dazzle to find out more about their needs and requirements and the team back in Glasgow got to work on the site build. It was decided it would be best to purchase a new domain featuring the new shop name. The site should be simple and easy to update allowing Denny and Dazzle to add new pictures of stock items, to post news articles and to show the shop location and contact details. With the production company working so hard we wanted to make sure that all Mary’s hard work could be seen and installed a slideshow on the front page as well as a separate picture gallery that the owners could maintain themselves.
Since the site launch Mucky Puddle have also set up a 37 twitter feed, blogger account, added a product catalogue and provided training and support to Denny and Dazzle in how to keep their site up to date.
Don’t forget to tune in tonight at 9pm!
“In this episode Small Back Room and Mary Portas persuade the owners of a furniture shop in Kingston-upon-Thames to take a radical new approach to their business. 'Up-cycling' and 'found' objects are the name of the game and Small Back Room's creative director, Callum Lumsden, with his design team manage to re-model the shop using charity shop junk and a lot of imagination!”

Scottsland Website Launch
Friday, 16 April 2010 15:55

Mucky Puddle are delighted to announce the launch of their latest website project. ScottsLand, Celebrating the Language of the Landscape marks the 200th anniversary of the publication of Sir Walter Scott's poem Lady of the Lake, which transformed popular perspectives on landscape and generated the first surge of tourists to the Trossachs and Scotland.
Working closely with the project team, Mucky Puddle created a simple, elegant design which complemented the literary theme of the event.
Typography was selected for it's historical relevance and imagery was kept simple to echo the importance of the language of the landscape.
An integrated and categorised events calendar is a key feature of the site allowing different types of event to be displayed individually.
