The Problem

SportCentral is one of two pilot Sports Partnerships in Scotland set up by sportscotland in 2006.  SportCentral helps partners work together to improve opportunities for people to take part and progress in sports in the Forth Valley area.  They required a modern corporate online presence for their new organisation.  The website needed to be user friendly, professional, easily updateable, and a valuable tool for communication and information exchange.

The Solution 

Taking into consideration SportCentral's objectives, we proposed a tailor-made web package that fulfilled all criteria.  SportCentral support eight different sports and each of these sports had to clearly have their own area on the site.  Our design team created an eye-catching website differentiating each sport using a different colour.  This colour scheme is carried throughout the website to aid navigation and create a consistent look.  This colour palette has since been successfully utilised in the design of the SportCentral 2006-2007 Annual Report; a glossy full-colour document.   The Mucky Puddle technical team customised our content management system to provide individual events calendars for each sport, an updateable news blog, dynamic web 2 technology headers, secure log-in for coaching staff, and RSS feeds for the latest sports news.  The site was also built to meet W3C accessibility standards and is suitable for all users.

Benefits & Results

SportCentral now have a user friendly, modern, content managed website that helps to promote their activities and improve the profile of sport in the Forth Valley area.  By developing an integrated and interactive website, SportCentral have been able to utilise the benefits of improved communication with its partners and the sporting community.
